CARMEL CHRISTIAN CHURCH
After
September 15 - 24, 2005
In September, 2005, a group from Carmel Christian Church, along with four members from
Cleveland's Euclid Avenue Christian Church, went to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The trip was arranged through Church World Service and our denomination's Week
of Compassion. At the conclusion of the trip, after seeing "outreach
dollars in action," some new projects were identified and funded.
While visiting roto-tiller recipients, Zulfo and Halima, (roto-tiller picture on trip page), we learned that Zulfo's mother was no longer knitting because she lacked yarn. Upon learning this, we immediately funded "the yarn project."

daughter-in-law, Halima, right. She was away visiting another son when the
yarn was delivered.

The Zenica soup kitchen was in need of a washing machine. When our Bosnian friends "went shopping," the store was having a sale - so with the allotted washing machine money they purchased a washer, vacuum cleaner, mixer, and set of metal pots!

and "bonuses."
When visiting Pasha and his family in September, we were entertained in his (incompleted) new house. With winter coming, the roof needed to be finished. Another project - a gift of tiles.
